JOBS IN BIOTECHNOLOGY

Its da 3rd year now dat i've been associated wid da field of BIOTECH n hearin since even b4 dat bout a boom in da market n country...A boom bigger than da IT boom or IT revolution..A boom dat promised 2 change al lives..A boom called da "BIOTECH BOOM"...Its those days n stil til date i've continued 2 hear of dis leap 2 b seen soon..How soon no1 knows...or really doesnt ne1 know..!!!???

I know dis topic is certainly gonna raise interests in many n they wud continue readin it 4 sure as dere is da sense of insecurity 2 al who r associated wid da field...insecure coz no1 promises u a job or a placement or a life wher u work n get paid..paid enuf 2 live happily n in a leisure n luxurious manner...dis provides a feelin of frustration wen compared wid ur counterparts in da field of IT or computer mainly...but people, go ahead 2 read bout wat u as a person of BT can make out of dis field n how u can b better off thn ya counterparts in any oda field..(atleast i believe so)

Hmmmm...beginning wat after B.Tech stuff...dis sud b 4 al my frens n seniors...we all are really tensed bout wat next..wat after B.tech..no job no nthg...cant afford another 10 yrs or so in research (many cant coz of family pressure or may b lack of interest created in da 4 yrs of enggineerin)..need a job but col doesnt provide placements...dis makes us 2 look 4 places wher de do provide jobs 2 graduates of da same level as ours....interestingly i jus came 2 know da truth ( bitter 4 many, sweet 4 most ) dat even dese institutes are no better than ours...instead de r far behind n lower than us...wun like 2 mention names (initially thot i wud but changed minds) but dese institutes yes provide jobs 2 B.tech biotech students in companies but wid no touch wid da core biotech...as far as i know u al, my frens n seniors, we all wish 2 b in dis field of biotech n work (no research stuff ) rite..???but dese students inspite of gettin jobs lose da whole of biotech n da knowledge empowered 2 them in 4 yrs in name of BIOTECH ENGINEERIN...da jobs dat de get is java based or in other words purely IT based...n we already know IT does ve a market..so y compare dese bunch of IT ppl (so called biotechnologists) wid us....???lets make a mark of our own...v know dat leavin biotech can fetch tremendous job opportunities but who wants 2 leave dis field behind...

Now comin towards da prospective of MBA in biotech...many, rather most think dat here 2 like above we are not in da field of BT n dun utilise it..here we are jus dealin wid finance, market, sales n al commerce based stuff...but is it da truth..???i wud say a firm "NO"...yes u r rite wen u say u r dealin jus wid finance, market n al but wud b wrong sayin we dun use BT...y not???lets c for an example--a BT firm makes sum molecule 4 da development n use of vaccine against AIDS...dis molecule needs 2 b promoted, popularised, marketed n sold...fine dis can b done by a simple MBA holder but wud it b as effective as a BT person holdin an MBA degree...??? i think it wun..i say dis coz a Biotechnologist knows wat dat molecule is made up off, how it functions in da body, wat can b its potential harm 2 us, wat path it follows 2 actively act against HIV...n not jus an MBA...da molecule needs 2 b satisfactorily n covincingly b reached 2 da public thru company n needs 2 b explained in minute details 2 sale it...i believe dis job aint dat easy n no Tom, Dick or Harry can do it...

Attendin a seminar recently at IIT-D i came 2 know ppl from dere do get a job n placed in banks even after dere M.Tech frm da institute...dis was shockin n wen " wat wud a biotechnologist do in a bank ", asked an attendee out dere from da same institute, da Boss of da bank employin them answered wid ease n determination..he said " if sum1 needs 2 setup a BT industry n comes 2 da bank 4 loan, its him,DA BIOTECHNOLOGIST who is gonna deal him...n how, he further explained by sayin its him who knows bout da resources needed 2 start dat company n only he can analyse n find out if da company after its establishment can work on a profitable turn over n repay da bank its loan wid da interests n furthermore its da development of da company dat wud decide also da faith of da bank wid it...(gettin wat i mean ....????)

Comin out of MBA n movin in2 da big current prospect of BT, research or Phd, da secnario is good enuf...work 4 yrs 2 get da degree n if u r lucky enough n hard workin u'l get wat u r workin on..remember i put luck in da prime position wel b4 hard work here...Lastly, did ne1 know dat NICD ( National Institute of Communicable Diseases) is affiliated 2 our university n enrolls students 4 Phd program...( wel if u did nice coz i came 2 know dis very recently)...wat say a Phd at da premium institute standin at a national n also international level n movin on2 workin wid NACO (being specific 2 HIV/AIDS interested people includin myself ) n then bein a part of WHO...??? wat say da future doesnt seem dat bad 4 us either...or does it
